Discourse

This video challenges our preconceptions of a flight attendant and the language they use by placing a "ghetto" black woman as the flight attendant and showing the differences in language, pronunciation and body language.

Bon Qui Qui's attitude is at odds with so many Discourses. This is so funny but it also shows the rolls and attitudes that we expect certain people to have. We definitely can see the contrast in the "ghetto" woman and the polite, serving, and cordial demeanor of the flight attendant, which is just hysterical. It makes an effort to point out the stereotypes we all have about the roles we should fill based on the jobs we have. We get great entertainment out of the competing Discourses present in this clip.
